I started my journey in 2009 as a self-taught graphic designer working for Jonesville Printing in Jonesville, MI, USA. I worked for several local companies, including Stockhouse, The Community Helper, Current Office Solutions, and Simply Hers Magazine. I learned how to operate print machinery, apply vinyl to cars, create digital marketing pieces, and develop a love for customer service.

In 2014, while on maternity leave for my second child, Judah (my first son's name is Noah, and my third son's name is Ezra), I decided to dive into web design. For the next two years, I worked full time, and at nights and weekends, I'd work on creating websites.

In 2016, I officially started Hillsdale Web Design. During this time, I discovered that online websites could only be seen organically if they also implemented strategic digital marketing. So, in 2018, I found other local freelancers who brought different marketing skills to the team. Together, we branched out into the digital marketing scene under the name Hillsdale Marketing Group (sometimes referred to as HMG Marketing and Web Design Company, or HMG for short).

During this time, I learned about business and management and increased my skillset using Search Engine Optimization and UX design. However, I realized that creating a large company with many clients was different than I thought it would be. Returning to my Hillsdale Web Design days when I could focus on clients more one-on-one, having fewer of them was what I was drawn to. In addition, I learned that today's market calls for businesses that are more personable, more real, who give back, and who have personality.

Around September 2022, I faced a lot of hardship in my personal life. I'd lost my grandma, and my children were crying out for me to be more 'present' in their lives. Running a start-up business has taken me away from many precious moments. I had to make a choice, keep doing what I was doing or put my family first. I decided to close HMG. I will forever be grateful to those who came along with me on my journey! Thank you to Sarah Gray, Connie Sexton, Christine Bowman, Tim Bowman, Robyn Jones, Andrew Stella, and Anne Brenner–I love each of you!

Now it's on to the future! In 2023, I am rebranding myself as A. Honey Creations, offering content creation services and aiding my clients as a Digital Marketing Strategist! I operate with fewer clients and bring my personality, values, and who I am to the table.
